Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), Taiwan's largest telecom operator, has announced an investment of over NT$3 billion to build its fourth data center dedicated to artificial intelligence. The new site will be located in the Central Taiwan Science Park.

This investment underscores the growing importance of artificial intelligence and machine learning for telecommunications companies, which are seeking to improve existing services and develop new applications. AI data centers provide the computing power needed to train and deploy machine learning models, supporting a wide range of applications, from data analysis to computer vision and natural language processing.

The choice to locate the data center in the Central Taiwan Science Park suggests a desire by CHT to benefit from the infrastructure and expertise present in the area, creating synergies with other technology companies and research institutions. CHT's investment is part of a growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, both locally and globally.
