DeepMind Seeks to Define AGI
DeepMind, Google's artificial intelligence lab, has announced an initiative to try to define and measure Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The company is organizing a hackathon with the goal of developing an empirical and scientifically grounded framework for evaluating progress toward AGI.
The main challenge is to establish objective criteria for determining whether a machine has actually reached a level of general intelligence comparable to that of humans. DeepMind hopes that the hackathon can lead to new ideas and approaches to address this complex issue.
For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs to consider. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
