Dell intervenes on GPU power connectors
Dell has introduced a proprietary solution to address the overheating and melting issues of the 16-pin power connectors on Nvidia GPUs. The move, unusual for a large OEM, suggests a widespread concern regarding the reliability of standard connectors.
A more robust connector
Dell's solution consists of a custom connector that is securely bolted to prevent movement and ensure a more stable contact. This approach aims to prevent overheating problems that can occur when connectors are not securely connected, potentially leading to malfunctions or damage to the GPU.
