An Attempt to Protect Privacy from AI Wearables
Spectre I, developed by Deveillance, is a device designed to counter the increasing prevalence of always-on AI-powered wearables. The idea behind it is to provide users with greater control over their privacy, preventing these devices from continuously collecting environmental and personal data.
The Physical Challenges of the Project
Despite the ambition of the project, its effectiveness is questioned by several factors, mainly related to the laws of physics. Effectively blocking the wireless signals emitted by wearables requires high transmission power and precise knowledge of the frequencies used. Furthermore, modern devices use advanced modulation techniques and complex communication protocols, making it difficult to intercept and jam the signals. Spectre I's ability to overcome these challenges remains uncertain.
