Google is intensifying the integration of Gemini into its Workspace ecosystem, introducing new artificial intelligence-based features for Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

AI Features for Document Creation and Editing

The new Gemini features aim to simplify the document creation and editing process, automating tasks such as generating initial drafts and stylizing slides. Users will be able to use text prompts to describe the type of document they want and get a first version quickly. Gemini will be able to draw on content from various Google sources, such as Gmail, other documents, and chats, to contextualize and enrich documents.

AI-assisted editing and stylistic consistency

In addition to automatic document creation, Gemini will offer advanced AI-assisted editing features. Users will be able to reformat and modify documents via further prompts, or highlight specific sections and request targeted changes. Docs will also support AI-assisted style matching, useful in collaborative scenarios where multiple people are working on the same text, ensuring greater stylistic consistency. Google emphasizes that all Gemini suggestions remain private until the user approves their use.
