GNU Nettle 4.0 Released
The GNU Nettle cryptographic library is out with a major new update. The update introduces support for SLH-DSA, the post-quantum signature scheme selected by NIST for the FIPS 205 standard.
This update represents a significant step in protecting systems from future threats, particularly those arising from quantum computers, which could render current cryptographic algorithms obsolete. The adoption of SLH-DSA allows developers to build applications resistant to such attacks.
Post-Quantum Cryptography: An Evolving Landscape
Post-quantum cryptography is a rapidly evolving field, with several algorithms competing to become standards. The inclusion of SLH-DSA in GNU Nettle 4.0 demonstrates the project's commitment to staying at the forefront and providing developers with the tools they need to protect their data.
