Google continues to release new artificial intelligence models at a rapid pace. The latest is Gemini 3.1 Pro, an update to the Gemini 3 model released in November. According to Google, this new version offers superior problem-solving and reasoning capabilities.
Performance
Gemini 3.1 Pro is currently available in preview for developers and consumers. Google claims that the model represents the "core intelligence" behind the recent improvements to its Deep Think tool. As usual, the announcement is accompanied by a series of benchmarks. In the "Humanity's Last Exam" test, which assesses advanced knowledge in specific domains, Gemini 3.1 Pro scored a record 44.4%, surpassing Gemini 3 Pro's 37.5% and OpenAI's GPT 5.2's 34.5%.
