Intel Focuses on Xe3P and Open Source for Graphics and AI
Intel has begun preparations to integrate support for its Xe3P graphics architecture into the Mesa OpenGL "Iris" and Vulkan "ANV" open-source drivers. This marks an important step towards the adoption of Xe3P in various fields, from integrated graphics to the acceleration of artificial intelligence workloads.
The initiative follows the introduction of Xe3P support in the Linux kernel for future Nova Lake integrated graphics solutions and for the Crescent Island AI inference accelerator. Integration into Mesa drivers will ensure that OpenGL and Vulkan applications can take full advantage of the capabilities of the new Intel architectures.
For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs to consider when adopting hardware solutions of this type. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
