Nvidia and Emerald AI for efficient AI data centers
Nvidia and Emerald AI have announced a partnership with several utility companies to build data centers based on artificial intelligence (AI) and capable of interacting intelligently with the power grid. The main goal is to optimize energy consumption and contribute to grid stability by leveraging the computing and predictive analysis capabilities of AI.
These data centers, defined as "grid-responsive", will be able to modulate their energy needs based on grid conditions, reducing the load during peak demand and increasing utilization when energy is more available (for example, from renewable sources). This approach can help reduce energy costs and improve grid reliability.
For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs to consider. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these options.
