Rainbow Weather, a Warsaw-based startup, has announced $5.5 million in funding to improve short-term, high-precision weather forecasting.

Hyperlocal forecasts

The company focuses on hyperlocal forecasts, providing minute-by-minute updates. The goal is to accurately predict what will happen in the next few hours, rather than focusing on long-term forecasts. The core product is a mobile app that provides precipitation forecasts for the next four hours, calculated at the exact moment the user makes the request.

Investors

The funding round was backed by a syndicate of investors, including Yuri Gurski, founder of Flo Health, one of Europe's best-known consumer tech unicorns.
