Santa Monica will be the first city in the United States to use an artificial intelligence system on municipal parking enforcement vehicles to identify potential bike lane violations.
Starting in April, the city will implement Hayden AI's scanning technology on seven vehicles in its fleet. This expansion follows the installation of similar cameras on city buses.
Charley Territo, chief growth officer at Hayden AI, stated, "The more we can reduce the amount of illegal parking, the safer we can make it for bike riders."
The initiative aims to improve road safety and ensure compliance with parking regulations, leveraging artificial intelligence for more efficient and widespread control.
