Shotcut 26.1 Adopts Hardware Decoding

Shotcut 26.1 is now available as the latest feature update to this open-source and cross-platform video editing solution. The main new feature is the default enabling of GPU hardware accelerated video decoding, designed to improve performance during editing.

Current Limitations

Hardware acceleration is enabled on all platforms supported by Shotcut, with one notable exception: NVIDIA GPUs on Linux systems. This limitation may be due to compatibility or driver issues specific to this hardware/OS combination, and may be resolved in future updates.
