Hardware Scam on eBay: RTX 5090 Dismembered
An eBay seller has been the victim of an elaborate scam: a buyer returned a $4,000 RTX 5090 graphics card, seemingly functional, but missing the GPU core and memory modules.
The card, a Zotac, had been emptied of its most valuable components before being sent back to the seller. The case was documented in a video by Baily ecom, who showed evidence of the tampering.
This incident highlights the risks associated with selling high-value hardware components on online platforms and the need to adopt stricter security measures to prevent fraud.
