AI supply chain attacks: documentation as the new vector

A new study reveals a potential vulnerability in the supply chain of artificial intelligence tools: documentation compromise. Instead of injecting malware directly into the code, attackers could manipulate API documentation, inducing developers to use malicious functions or parameters.

The proof-of-concept was carried out on Context Hub, a service that helps development agents stay up to date on API calls. The research highlighted poor content sanitization, opening the door to potential attacks.
