Accel India Focuses on Innovation, Not Wrappers
Google and Accel India recently analyzed over 4,000 applications for their Atoms acceleration program. One fact was particularly striking: about 70% of AI startups based in India were proposing solutions defined as "wrappers."
These "wrappers" are essentially user interfaces or services that rely on pre-existing artificial intelligence models, without making significant innovations at the algorithm or architecture level. In other words, many startups were simply packaging and reselling already available technologies.
This led Google and Accel India to focus on those realities that demonstrated a more original approach and real added value. Five startups were therefore selected that stand out for their ability to develop innovative and proprietary AI solutions, abandoning the logic of the simple "wrapper."
For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs to consider carefully. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
