Agnit Semiconductors, based in India, has announced funding of US$2.6 million. The goal is to accelerate the commercialization of its gallium nitride (GaN) based chips.

Target markets

The GaN chips developed by Agnit Semiconductors primarily target two key sectors: telecommunications and power management. Gallium nitride offers significant advantages in terms of energy efficiency and performance compared to silicio, making it ideal for applications requiring high efficiency and compact size.

Advantages of GaN

The use of gallium nitride allows for the development of smaller, more efficient devices with better thermal management than traditional alternatives. This translates into improved performance and reduced energy consumption, which are increasingly important in various industrial sectors.
