Artificial Intelligence and Journalism: An Experience in Kenya
Last week, one of our editors attended a conference in Kenya focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on journalism. The event explored how journalists can address the challenges posed by disinformation and information chaos in the digital age.
The conference, small in size with about 30 participants, saw the participation of key figures from independent newsrooms in Africa, Europe, and Asia, as well as researchers in the field of human rights and the non-profit sector. The goal was to create synergies and future collaborations to address common challenges in the world of information.
The discussion focused on how AI is transforming the media landscape and what strategies to adopt to ensure accurate and reliable information. Data sovereignty and the need for infrastructures that guarantee privacy have become central themes, especially for organizations operating in contexts with strict regulations.
