Avvoka, a UK-based legaltech platform, has announced £14 million in funding led by Valhalla Ventures. The company develops AI-powered drafting infrastructure for law firms, aiming to convert legal documents into structured templates that can be reused and refined over time.

Platform Features

Avvoka's automation engine uses large language models (LLM) to identify variables, clauses, and conditions within documents. Built-in controls ensure that drafts remain consistent with the law firm's established standards. The system is designed to support high-volume legal work that requires high accuracy.

Integration and Vision

Founded by former Magic Circle lawyers Eliot Benzecrit and David Howorth, Avvoka integrates AI into the rules-based automation frameworks commonly used by law firms, rather than replacing existing processes. According to Benzecrit, advances in AI are changing the pace of legal drafting, making traditional document-by-document automation less scalable.

Future Plans

The new funding will be used to expand Avvoka's presence in the United States and to further develop the platform's capabilities, supporting high-volume legal work while maintaining consistency.
