Ad blocking: Manifest V3 hasn't stopped it

Contrary to expectations, Chrome's introduction of Manifest V3 (MV3) has not compromised the effectiveness of ad-blocking tools and privacy extensions. It was feared that the new extension architecture would limit the capabilities of these solutions, but the facts show otherwise.

Many industry experts had predicted that MV3 would make it more difficult for extensions to effectively block unwanted content and protect user privacy. However, the developers of these extensions have found ways to circumvent the limitations imposed by MV3, maintaining a level of protection comparable to that offered by Manifest V2.

This demonstrates the resilience of the open source community and its ability to adapt to changes imposed by large technology companies. Ad blocking therefore remains a valid tool for improving the browsing experience and protecting online privacy.
