Support for Anthropic in dispute with the Department of Defense

A group of over 30 employees from OpenAI and Google DeepMind have publicly expressed their support for Anthropic in the legal dispute against the United States Department of Defense (DoD). The position emerged through a statement filed in court.

The lawsuit arose following the DoD's decision to classify Anthropic as a supply chain risk, a designation that has evidently raised concerns within the artificial intelligence community. The signatories of the statement, from two of the leading companies in the sector, wanted to express their disagreement with the Department of Defense's assessment.
