Gram: a minimalist fork of Zed
Gram is a text editor written in Rust, created from the source code of Zed. The main feature of Gram is the removal of most of the advanced features present in Zed, including those related to artificial intelligence and chat.
According to Gram's developer, the release of this fork has led Zed Industries to modify its terms of service. Further details on the changes made are not currently available.
Text editors and on-premise alternatives
The choice of a text editor is often a personal decision, but in corporate contexts it can be influenced by specific security and data control requirements. For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs between advanced features and compliance requirements. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these alternatives.
