Intel ISPC 1.30: Native AMX Support
Intel ISPC (Implicit SPMD Program Compiler) version 1.30 has been released. ISPC is a compiler that allows you to develop high-performance code for Intel CPUs and GPUs using a variant of the C language.
The main new feature of this release is the integration of support for AMX (Advanced Matrix Extensions) directly into the standard library. This should simplify the development of applications that take advantage of these instructions to accelerate linear algebra calculations, typical of machine learning and other scientific applications.
ISPC is particularly useful in contexts where it is necessary to optimize performance on Intel hardware, offering an alternative to more generic libraries or higher-level programming languages. For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs to consider when adopting tools of this type. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
