The 'Addiction' Strategy for Scout

An internal Microsoft strategy document, previously reported by 404 Media, revealed an approach aimed at making users 'addicted' to the company's new AI assistant, Scout, internally known as ClawPilot. The document, co-created with the aid of AI tools and human-verified, listed Omar Shahine, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Scout, and Jakob Werner, another executive, among its authors.

Phase one of Scout's launch plan explicitly aimed to 'make people addicted,' continuing to ship the standalone ClawPilot experience, growing the user base, and building a skill and tool ecosystem that would make people depend on it daily. This strategy highlights a clear intention to deeply integrate AI into users' routines, making it an essential element for task execution.
