OpenAI expands its presence in Asia-Pacific
OpenAI has chosen Kiran Mani, former CEO of JioStar, to lead its operations in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The appointment, which will take effect in June 2026, underscores the strategic importance that OpenAI attaches to the Asian market.
Mani will report directly to Jason Kwon, OpenAI's chief strategy officer. His previous experience at JioStar, a company operating in the media and entertainment sector, suggests a focus on expanding partnerships and adapting OpenAI products to the specific needs of the APAC market.
The expansion in Asia-Pacific represents a strategic move for OpenAI, which aims to consolidate its leading position in the generative artificial intelligence sector and reach an increasingly broad global audience.
