## Parloa: New Funding Round and Record Valuation Parloa, the Berlin-based startup that develops AI-powered voice agents for call center use, has announced a $350 million Series D funding round. The deal brings the company's valuation to $3 billion, tripling it in just seven months. The round was led by existing investor General Catalyst, with participation from other investors such as EQT Ventures, Altimeter Capital, Durable Capital Partners, and Mosaic Ventures. This new funding follows just seven months after a previous $120 million Series C round, which valued Parloa at $1 billion. ## Global Expansion on the Horizon Parloa plans to use the new funds to expand globally, focusing particularly on the United States and Europe. Offices have already been identified in San Francisco and Madrid, there is a localized team in London, and a US headquarters has recently been opened in Manhattan. Parloa's platform combines automated speech recognition and natural language understanding to enable companies to develop automated dialogues for phone, chat, voice assistants and messaging systems, all in one solution. Parloa operates in a competitive sector, where it competes with several other startups, including UK-based PolyAI. The company claims that its AI setup understands the same amount of words and contexts as a call center agent.
