Plato focuses on generative AI for wholesale distribution

Plato, a Berlin-based startup, has announced the closing of a $14.5 million seed funding round. The goal is to integrate generative AI solutions into the wholesale distribution sector, a sector traditionally not very inclined to technological innovation.

The funding was led by Atomico, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Discovery Ventures, and D11Z. The capital injection aims to develop and implement AI-based automation tools to optimize processes in the wholesale sector.

The wholesale distribution sector, while not often at the center of media attention, represents a significant part of the global economy, managing a large share of the movement of goods worldwide.
