Space supply chain: a new frontier
Paris Space Week 2026 highlighted the growing challenges related to the supply chain in the aerospace sector. With the increase in space missions, the exploration of new planets, and the development of orbital infrastructure, the need for an efficient and resilient supply chain has become crucial.
The discussions focused on how to improve logistics for the transport of materials and components into space, reducing costs and delivery times. The use of new technologies, such as 3D printing and advanced materials, was identified as a key factor in optimizing production and reducing dependence on terrestrial suppliers.
Another central theme was the need to ensure the security and reliability of the supply chain, protecting it from potential disruptions caused by geopolitical events or natural disasters. Diversification of suppliers and the creation of strategic reserves were proposed as solutions to mitigate these risks.
