Tesla and self-driving: 'Autopilot' term discontinued
Tesla has complied with an order by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and stopped using the term "Autopilot" in its marketing of electric vehicles. This decision follows disputes over claims related to self-driving.
The company had already modified the use of the expression "Full Self-Driving", clarifying that this functionality requires driver supervision. The move avoids a 30-day suspension of Tesla's license.
For those evaluating on-premise deployment of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), there are significant trade-offs in terms of costs, infrastructure, and compliance requirements. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
