AMD has released ROCm 7.12 as a tech preview, anticipating what will presumably be version 8.0.
This new version extends support to a greater number of consumer APUs and GPUs. This means that a wider range of AMD hardware can be used to develop and test applications that leverage the ROCm ecosystem.
ROCm is AMD's open-source software platform designed for high-performance computing, including support for GPU computing, machine learning, and HPC (High-Performance Computing). Extending hardware support is an important step in making ROCm accessible to a wider audience of developers and researchers.
