Oplane Raises €4.5M to Bolster Security in AI Development
Swedish cybersecurity startup Oplane has announced a €4.5 million seed funding round. The objective is to support engineering teams in addressing the growing security risks emerging from AI-assisted software development. The round was led by Seed Capital, with participation from angel investors such as Emil Eifrem, Robert Lagerström, Joakim Nydrén, and existing investor Icebreaker.vc.
Founded in Malmö by Emil Kvarnhammar, Oscar Andersson, and Anders Söderling, Oplane aims to build an “agentic” security platform for teams developing software with AI. This approach reflects the increasing need for automated and proactive solutions capable of keeping pace with the inherent speed of new development paradigms.
The Security Challenge in AI-Assisted Development
The integration of AI-powered coding tools into engineering workflows has revolutionized the speed at which organizations can build and deploy applications. However, this acceleration poses a significant challenge for traditional security processes.
