SK Hynix focuses on EUV lithography for next-generation memories
SK Hynix has announced an $8 billion investment to purchase EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography machines from ASML. The order, the largest ever placed by SK Hynix, is expected to cover up to 30 EUV machines over the next two years.
These state-of-the-art machines will be used to improve the production of HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and advanced DRAM, key components for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications.
The adoption of EUV lithography will enable SK Hynix to produce denser and more performing memory chips, responding to the growing market demand.
For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are infrastructural trade-offs to consider. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
