Patch for Virtual Terminal Control in Linux
A recent patch proposal for the Linux kernel aims to provide greater flexibility in managing the Virtual Terminal (VT). Currently, enabling or disabling VT support is determined during kernel compilation via the CONFIG_VT option. The patch would allow changing this behavior directly at boot time.
This change, under discussion among technicians, would allow adapting the kernel to different needs without having to recompile the system. Implementing this patch could simplify the management of embedded systems or specific environments where VT support is not always necessary.
For those evaluating on-premise deployments, there are trade-offs to consider. AI-RADAR offers analytical frameworks on /llm-onpremise to evaluate these aspects.
