Data center moratorium in New York State
New York state lawmakers have proposed a three-year pause on the construction of new data centers. The proposed bill is the latest in a series of similar initiatives at the state level.
Although the bill's future is uncertain, New York is at least the sixth state to consider a moratorium on the construction of new data centers. This reflects a growing concern about the environmental impact and energy consumption associated with these infrastructures.
