According to a new study, the root of the problem lies in the difficulty of capturing the internal dynamics that drive a character. ## The VEJA Framework The researchers identified four key concepts for character authenticity: Values, Experiences, Judgments, and Abilities (VEJA). They then proposed the VEJA framework as a new paradigm for data management, aimed at overcoming the limitations of current approaches, such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and the use of synthetic data. ## A New Approach to Training The VEJA framework is based on a manually curated dataset. The results of a comparative test with a system based on synthetic data show a significant qualitative improvement, suggesting that an approach based on fundamental concepts such as those proposed by VEJA is essential for creating roleplaying agents with greater depth and narrative consistency.
