Pluto.markets, a Danish investment platform founded in 2021, has announced a $6 million seed funding round. The round was led by Danish venture capital firm Seed Capital, with participation from existing investors and several founders of Danish unicorns.
Funding Details
The round saw the participation of prominent figures in the Danish tech scene, including Jeppe Rindom (Pleo), Sander Janca-Jensen and Rasmus Busk (Flatpay), Victor Riparbelli and Steffen Tjerrild (Synthesia), Andreas Sachse (Podimo), Alex Aghassipour (Zendesk), Lars Flรธe Nielsen and Michael Seifert (Sitecore). This new funding brings the total capital raised by the startup to nearly $10 million since its inception.
Pluto.markets' Objectives
Pluto.markets offers users commission-free trading in fractional stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. The company aims to replicate the success of platforms like Robinhood and Trade Republic in the Nordic countries. The funds raised will be used to expand into new markets and launch new products, with a particular focus on the ETF market.
Next Steps
According to Joakim Bruchmann, co-founder of Pluto.markets, the company will focus on innovation in the ETF sector, both for individuals and businesses. Pluto.markets began onboarding its first customers 14 months ago and claims to have more than 10,000 users in Denmark. The company is targeting the millions of Europeans living in countries with their own local currencies, such as the Nordic countries.
