Spotify is launching a new feature called Taste Profile, designed to give Premium subscribers more granular control over the algorithm that generates music recommendations.

Announced at SXSW by co-CEO Gustav Sรถderstrรถm, the Taste Profile feature will allow users to view and shape the data model that drives music suggestions. The initial launch is planned in New Zealand as a beta test.

How It Works

For a decade, Spotify's recommendation engine has operated in the background, analyzing users' listening habits, skipped songs, and the time spent listening to certain tracks. Now, with Taste Profile, users will have the opportunity to directly influence this process.
