Advertising on ChatGPT: Which Ads Appear Most Often?
OpenAI has started displaying advertisements to users of the free tier of ChatGPT in the United States. To better understand what types of ads are being shown and how relevant they are, 500 questions were posed to the chatbot, analyzing the displayed advertisements.
The experiment aimed to identify advertising patterns and their relationship to user prompts. The results offer an insight into how OpenAI is implementing monetization through contextual advertising within its language model.
